Gladdest Thing Under The Sun

I will be the gladdest thing under the sun
I will touch a hundred flowers and not pick one.
~Edna Millay
Isn't it strange that we focus on one thing and leave aside everything else. Don't we all are committing a personal offence by missing so much in this wide vibrant world. We all born in a particular family. Every family relates itself to a particular belief system. Though we've not inherited that belief system genetically somehow out of established social practices every child gets this gift  from their parents. One peculiar thing about elders- they are too adamant to change. They are kind of close to other's interpretations. But, look at the world- it is full of different types of belief system and faiths... Each having their own fortes and classifiable lineaments.. What if we can experience or try and inquire about, if not all then, as many as we can.
I find it hard to tell you
the mystery that surrounds
brobdingnagian ocean of
things I don't know yet
and the ones which are all around.
Some of them were forced
quite literally
how I unlearn them
how do I forget ?

It'd be so fun
if I can touch them all
know each one of them
tie them all, on a single string
why I have to choose one
when I can have million.
Who stops us ?
what stops us ?
the nameless, faceless people,
we call them "society"
or the real obstacle is within
the coveted red-tapism
and self-fabricated anxiety.

We all crave for having good friends. The lucky ones have them in many numbers. But, we never stop ourselves from making more friends. Throughout the life we keep on adding layers and layers of relationships. Bringing as many as we can people in our social umbrella. Nothing stops us from experimenting there. Similarly when we learn and read we refer many books... the more the merrier. Music is known for bridging the gap a language creates.. then why can't we develop tolerance for other faiths. When it comes to religion why adopt this isolationist approach. Touch everything, learn everything, feel everything. Do not stick to just one.... there's so much fun and life beyond What and What nots !!

Do Not Be Angry

"Do not be angry with the rain; it simply does not know how to fall upwards." ~Vladimir Nabokovar

I've been sampling
this for days
on and off
going on a stroll
coursing the beach
gingerly looking out
minding like the dickens
every word and speech.

Tenacious efforts
you put every time
you're bloody obdurate
so am I
don't try, hurts us both
block it off

before one of us chokes.
Oh, redundancy it creates
drooping me, day by day
these games of charades.

Antipathy maturing
inside your head
drop it dead
my friend
I' m what I am
how can that change ?
Both of us
naive to mutate
let's go on a walk together
we'll tune our ways
in a way
that doesn't bother.

Not Quite What I Was Planning

Like everyone else I plan things. I make a luxuriant list of the things I wanna do and invest an awful amount of energy while doing so. Envisaging minute details and keeping track of all possible backdrops and outcomes. I keep changing them too ( sometimes very often) and loose my way in the  process. This brain of mine always finds itself pregnant with new ideas and associated plans. A slight change in the context and the whole plan goes in flush and a new baby plan is conceived. As Sarah sDessen says -
"you can't just plan a moment when things get back on track, just as you can't plan the moment you lose your way in the first place"
There are things I can never plan or to put it other way, there are times when all my plans just fail. It doesn't mean I'm a bad planner or some hapless fellow with poor management skills. I do all that can be done. I cross every Ts and dot every Is. But, in spite of all that details and contingency planning something goes wrong.

I had every thing covered
plot was thick,
my planning too.
steel-proof  it was
I was sure.

Things can go wrong
I knew what to do.
I had contingency plans
at hand
but sometimes clock ticks
too fast to comprehend.

Never saw it coming.
Opponent was too quick
to grab.
I find him oddly familiar
and very strange
then I realized

It was no one but Me.
I planned everyone else
everything else
except that chaotic
turbulence inside Me.
Somehow I myself
was responsible
for this blunder spree.

I couldn't plan distractions
I found them on my way
I couldn't plan the
randomness that goes on
every single day.
I thought I was in control
of every moves I may make
or every word
my fluky mouth may say .

We often find ourselves doing something else then we actually planned. The impregnable shell we create for ourselves by meticulous planning suddenly melts away. You feel tempted to deviate and do things differently and may be sometimes despite that you turn back and stick to the plan. But, such decisions exist everyday and you have deal with then on regular basis. With time

You learn to build all your roads on today
Because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans
And futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight.
After a while you learn...
That even sunshine burns if you get too much.
So you plant your garden and decorate your own soul,
And you learn that you really can endure...

Young and Reckless

"Everyone has ocean's to fly, if they have the heart to do it. Is it reckless? Maybe. But what do dreams know of boundaries?"
― Amelia Earhart
